At the Bankruptcy Firm of Lansing J. Roy, P.A., we have
three attorneys to serve you: Lansing Roy, Chris Demetros
and Cheri Odom. The attorney
profile pages will give you details about their education
and background.
Our Office Manager, JoAnn Roy, coordinates a staff
of over 20 friendly, experienced and professional individuals
to support our attorneys in the care of your case.
BANKRUPTCY
The first step in a bankruptcy case is the initial consultation
with an attorney and a paralegal, usually Tom Abbott
or Kevin Paysinger. There is no cost or obligation
for this first visit, which normally lasts 45 minutes
to an hour. We will take a detailed look at your situation,
your rights and options will be explained, and we will
help you come up with a plan of action.
If you decide to retain us to represent you, your next
appointment will be with the Bookkeeping Department, to
pay the down payment and open a file. After your case
is opened, if you have problems with your bill, Linda
McDill will be glad to help.
Your next stop will be with the paralegal that will file
your case. The paralegal you meet with will be your point
of contact in our office through the life of your bankruptcy.
If you file a Chapter
7, your paralegal will be Debra Varriano. If
you file a Chapter
13, your paralegal will be Steve Scheck.
You will need to come to the Federal Courthouse about
40 days after filing your bankruptcy for the Meeting of
Creditors (also called the 341 Meeting). One of our attorneys
will be with you at the meeting. If you are in a Chapter
13, there will be another court appearance for you shortly
after the Meeting of Creditors.
You will find our employees
friendly, experienced and professional.
We look forward to helping you.
